NHD meets the highest standards of both the American Institute of Philanthropy (AIP) and the National Charities Information Bureau. President Clinton’s Arts and Humanities report cited NHD as an "exemplary program" and President Reagan stated, "National History Day provides practical demonstration of the significant role history plays in our educational process." The program is endorsed by the National Council for the Social Studies, National Council for Public History, American Association for State and Local History, American Historical Association, Organization of American Historians, The White House Historical Association, The World War II Memorial, and many other organizations.
